Breaking: Buhari extends IGP Adamu’s tenure

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday approved the extension of the tenure of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Mohammed Adamu, for three months.

The Minister of Police Affairs, Mohammed Maigari Dingyadi disclosed this while briefing State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Dingyadi said Buhari’s decision to extend the IGP’s tenure for another three months was to ensure proper selection of the new helmsman.

He then shared a tweet stating – ‘With this three months extension, IGP Adamu is expected to focus, on driving critical policing projects, such as community policing, police reforms and equipping, to improve internal security in Nigeria’.
