Chimamanda Adichie Speaks On Gender Based uproar.

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie gave a talk about the gender-based uproar and pinpointed that women are the primary victims and it starts from the womb.

She acknowledged that before delivery, most of the pregnancies eliminated are “overwhelmingly female pregnancies ” and they are aborted “particularly because they are female”.

She pinpointed that from the moment they are born, baby boys are treated differently from baby girls. She said baby girls are hugged more while the boys are taught to be strong and not cry.

She stated that at a tender age that there is woman-on-woman violence and man-on-man violence but said the majority of the cases of domestic violence are done on women by men.

She reinforced that men also suffer because of their gender. She explained that men are ridiculed for not being financially robust, for showing weakness, and for failing.

She said a lot needs to change and proposed what this change should look like.
