Public Speaking has always been an essential part of the formal world. But it’s sad to say that so many people do not know how to speak to people. If you’re part of those struggling with this, then this is for you; Here are a few tips to help you improve on your public speaking skills:
DETERMINATION: Putting your mind and working hand to be the best can be next to nothing. In addition, Franklin D. Roosevelt once said “If we attack our problems with determination, we shall succeed.” You must first determine in your heart to be the best before you can.
LEARN: No one is actually an embodiment of knowledge, that means each day we must continue to learn. Reading books and finding resources online on public speaking will really increase your knowledge.
FIND MENTORS: In every field there are always people we could look up to. Public speaking is not left out as we can find people whose words changed the course of societies and defined eras. People like Winston Churchill, John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr. etc. Find the people that speaks to you most, learn their styles and pattern and grow from there.
PRACTICE: Just like reading is important for an examination or practicing for a competition, public speaking needs a lot of practicing.
Try speaking to yourself in front of a mirror and speaking to people you’re comfortable around like family and friends.
