Just in: Ex-LG Chairman in Kogi State Kidnapped By Gunmen

A former Chairman of Olamaboro Local Government Area in Kogi, identified as Mr Emmanuel Ekpa, has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen in the state.

Confirming the incidence was DSP William Aya, the state police command spokesperson. DSP William said that Ekpa was kidnapped along Ochadamu Road in Ofu Local Government Area of the State.

Aya said, “On close scrutiny, they found an abandoned ID card in the vehicle bearing the name Emmanuel Isaac Ekpa, apparently indicating that he was kidnapped by gunmen.”

Aya added that the state commissioner of police, Mr Edeh Ayuba, had raised a team to track down the abductors and rescue Ekpa.

A relation of Mr Ekpa confirmed that the abductors had made contacted the family, demanding #25 Million ransom for his release and that negotiation is still ongoing.
