“Not Having Children Gave Me Freedom To Work” – Dolly Parton

“Since I had no kids and my husband was pretty independent, I had the freedom to work. So I think a big part of my whole success is the fact that I was free to work,” The country music icon who will turn 75 in January said on Friday on Apple TV’s +  show, the Oprah Conversation.

The music icon confirmed that she is passionate about the younger generation and she believes that God didn’t mean for her to have kids.

“I didn’t have children because I believed that God didn’t mean for me to have kids so everybody’s kids could be mine, so I could do things like Imagination Library because if I hadn’t had the freedom to work, I wouldn’t have done all the things I’ve done. I wouldn’t be in a position to do all the things I’m doing now,” said the music icon.

Dolly Parton also spoke about ageing. She said she will be the best she can be at whatever age.
