NUC Directs Nigerian Universities to Resume on the 18th January, 2021

The Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC) has directed Vice Chancellor’s of Nigerian Universities to commence academic activities on January 18th in accordance with the directive of the Presidential Taskforce on Covid-19.

The directive was contained in aΒ  statement signed by the NUC ‘s Deputy Secretary (Admin), Chris Maiyaki on behalf of the Executive Secretary, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed.

Furthermore, the directive urged the Universities to safeguard lives by ensuring strict adherence to the extent safety protocols as well as the guidelines of the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

In addition, the directive reiterated the fact that Universities must not violate the full cycle of the semester systemΒ  consistent with the Benchmark Minimum Academic Standard (BMAS) approved by the NUC as well as other extant quality assurance standards and guidelines.
