Veteran Yoruba actress Folake Aremu dies at 60

Folake Aremu popularly known as Orisabunmi a veteran actress in Yoruba movie dies at the age of 60. She died in the late hours of Tuesday, 5th January  in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.

The news of her demise was verified by the President of the Theatre Arts And Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) Mr. Bolaji Amusan, aka Mr.Latin.

The Governor of TAMPAN in Oyo State, Mrs. Rose Odika also verified the occurrence stating that the actress died of a brief ailment after  2days in the hospital.

A senior TAMPAN member, Tunde Ola-Yusuff, also broke the news of her demise in a Facebook post.

“ADIEU She left without a farewell. The sudden death of Mrs. Folake Aremu (ORISABUNMI) has been announced.

Really a shock on everyone Iya Rosa, may God rest your Soul among the righteous. RIP,” Ola-Yusuff posted on Facebook.

Orisabunmi’s demise comes few months after the demise of her ex-husband Jimoh Aliu, popularly known as Aworo, who died on 17th September 2020.

Orisabunmi was well-known for the role of an Ifa priestess with magical powers and some other incredible manifestation
