Amitolu Shittu, the Osun State commandant of the regional security network “Amotekun” has disclosed that the new security agency which will commence operations in March 2021 will not tolerate indecent dressing and improper speaking of Yoruba language.
Shittu, the commander in charge of the corps, made this disclosure during an empowerment programme initiated by a member of the federal parliament, Lawrence Babatunde Ayeni (APC, Ilesha Constituency 1).
The Amotekun corps was established to help secure internal security across the six Southwest states, but Nigerians are wondering if this disclosure is still inline with the mandate.
Some Nigerians have accused the security operatives of trying to bore the same similarities and tactics with northern Hisbah corps.
