A woman in her 30s has been charged with murder by police as a four-year-old boy is found dead in a flat at Plumstead, south-east London.
Police were called to the flat early on Sunday morning before 8 am and found the boy lifeless and later pronounced dead after efforts to revive him proved abortive.
Police say the woman and the boy are related, although information on how they relate was not disclosed.
The woman was arrested at the scene and later charged for murder. She appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday and was asked to remain in custody as a post mortem will be carried out on Thursday.
